The Planning Council prioritizes the services most needed for people living with HIV/AIDS and allocate federal funds for these services. It develops plans for the delivery of care and services for people living with HIV/AIDS. It works to ensure that St. Louis area continues to receive Ryan White Part A Funds. The Planning Council includes a wide variety of members. Some members are HIV positive, some represent the communities most affected by HIV, some work for community-based organizations and some represent the federal funded programs who serve people living with HIV/AIDS. Members participate in monthly Planning Council meetings. Members bring their experience and knowledge regarding the needs of people and communities affected by HIV/AIDS to Planning Council discussions. Members are also assigned to at least one Committee based on their interests and experience.

Implementing ACA: Coordination Between CMS and Ryan White Program

HRSA and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services have released a joint Information Bulletin focusing on the importance of coordination between the Medicaid and Ryan White HIV/AIDS Programs. The Affordable Care Act's expansion of Medicaid provides tremendous opportunities to improve the health of people living with HIV/AIDS, as well as challenges for coordinating care and services. At the Federal level, CMS and HRSA are working together to provide support and technical assistance to Medicaid agencies and Ryan White HIV/AIDS grantees as they plan for transitions ahead. To facilitate coordination at the State level, this Information Bulletin outlines some program information and upcoming activities.
